Ernest Hemingway: "Good photos. What camera do you use?"
Irving Penn: "What typewriter do you use?"
Welcome to my online photo gallery.
Writing is my passion but photography is my joy. My approach to photography is colored by my background as an artist and interior designer. When I began writing full time, I switched from painting to photography. Photographic imagery inspires my writing and vice versa. Most days, I post a photo quote de jour at my blog. All images on this website were taken by me, except for most of the black and white childhood images of me on the bio page.
The photographs featured here are organized by subject and are available for licensing. Archival quality prints of all my work featured here or at my blog are available for purchase at "before famous" prices of $35.00 for a signed 8X10 print or $50.00 for an 11X 14 print. Photo quote de jour images are available with or without the text. I tend to work in multiple series and if you're looking for something specific, there a good chance I have something you'd like in my archives. Just ask.
NEWS: I am exhibiting several pieces in a group show at the Donald Gallery in Dobbs Ferry N.Y. titled "Just Desserts". On until Jan. 23, 2011.
I'm working on an online gallery shop at RedBubble.
A few items are already up and for sale, ranging from affordable greeting cards to larger prints including laminates and stretched canvas.
If you see something you'd like to purchase from the galleries (below) via RedBubble email me and I'll download them to their website.
Coming SOON! at the RedBubble Gallery: Cats, Architecture, Cemeteries, Black and White and more... Gallery #1 (Wabi Sabi)
Wabi Sabi is a Japanese esthetic philosophy that embraces the beauty of imperfection, impermanence and incompleteness. I love to photograph weathered, worn, cracked, peeling, broken and flawed man-made and natural objects. To me, they contain more 'soul' than factory fresh perfection. I like things that hint at history and forgotten stories. Graffiti and handmade signs can communicate as powerfully as neon.
